Amanda's Story

Amanda's Story

Amanda Gorski was 26 years old, the day she noticed something wasn’t right. She felt a hard lump in her breast, and knowing that wasn’t normal she called her doctor. The office staff tried to reassured her. “You’re too young to have breast cancer. You have no family history.” Despite this, Amanda was persistent in advocating for herself. Finally, the doctor ordered an ultrasound. A few weeks later, Amanda received the call no one hopes to get. She will never forget the day she was told she had Stage 2 breast cancer. Her life changed forever.

Today, with a career as a nurse, Amanda is a voice of inspiration and empowerment for breast health awareness. “I believe that every person should be their own advocate in their health care.”

She inspires teens in Circuelle’s E(3) Impact Educational Program which teaches breast health awareness, diet, fitness and risk-reducing living to young adults in the schools.

“It’s because of young women, like Amanda, that Circuelle Foundation exists,” says Circuelle founder, Melissa Kirkpatrick.“ Young adults need to understand the choices they make now affect their breast health in their future. Our interactive curriculum challenges them to incorporate healthy changes into their daily lives.”
